Dr. Valencia Williams, Psy.D., LCP, Behavioral Health Director

Dr. Williams is originally from the Westside of Chicago. She is the mother of a 27-year-old daughter, a ten-year-old son, and her dog Draper. Her lifelong passion for psychology was inspired by her sister Gwen whom she affectionately calls her “Star.” Dr. Williams has over 25 years of professional experience in mental health.

Dr. Williams has provided therapy services to youth and their families, young adults, old adults, and to couples. She has worked as a case manager and coordinator, a psychotherapist, and as a diagnostician. She has worked in community mental health agencies, group homes, psychiatric hospitals, juvenile court, and schools. Dr. Williams also has a background as a college educator, course developer, subject matter expert, and as a quality and compliance liaison.

Dr. Williams received her Clinical Psychology doctorate degree from The Chicago School of Professional Psychology, with a concentration in Industrial/Organizational psychology. She completed her internship at United Stand Counseling Center. Motivating others is something she tries to do every day. She believes in the success and empowerment of others through mind action and intention. Actions, thoughts, and feelings are motivated by intention. The mind is a resource that energizes and guides behavior. Part of her vision is to help others “See Before They See.” Everyone gets to be their Best!
