The Every Child Matters movement raises awareness about the lasting impact of Indian boarding schools in the United States and Canada. For generations, Native children were forcibly removed from their families and placed in these institutions, where they were often prohibited from speaking their languages, practicing their cultures, or maintaining ties to their communities. Many children never returned home. Several families and individuals with ties to AIHSC were directly impacted by this dark time in our history.
Every Child Matters recognizes these children, supports survivors and their descendants, and calls for truth, healing, and accountability. It is a reminder of both the harm caused and the resilience and healing that continue to define Native communities today.
