A Summer Meals Program For Children
Free healthy and nutritious summer meals are available for children (18 and under) when school is out.
The Rise & Shine Illinois campaign is a partnership between Share Our Strength, the nation’s leading child anti-hunger organization and partner organizations throughout Illinois. The campaign aims to end childhood hunger by using proven strategies, including increasing access to federally-funded child nutrition programs including school breakfast and summer meal programs.

During the school year, many Illinois children receive at least two meals a day at school via the National School Breakfast and Lunch programs. The Summer Food Service Program is designed to ensure that children continue to receive these important meals during the summer.
